Cumberland County has been chosen to participate in the latest round of the Tennessee Property Evaluation Program, according to an announcement from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.

Alongside Chester and Putnam counties, Cumberland County will receive expert guidance on evaluating potential industrial sites and planning for future economic development. The initiative aims to help communities identify where investments will be most beneficial and improve their inventory of shovel-ready properties.

Administered in partnership with the site selection firm Austin Consulting, the program features educational webinars, on-site evaluations, and comprehensive assessments designed to pinpoint local strengths and development opportunities. State officials noted that having ready industrial sites is often the deciding factor in landing major economic projects.

Selected based on demonstrated local need and market potential, Cumberland County leadership will now work with state and consulting experts to build consensus on competitive properties worthy of near-term investment.
