A registered sex offender was given a one-year prison sentence in Cumberland County for violation of the sex offender registry. The incident regarding 47-year-old James Lee Quarry of Crossville took place last month when he was found in a vehicle parked near a playground in Obed River Park. Quarry claimed he did not realize it was a park, even with the playground in sight. Quarry was placed on the sex offender registry after his 1993 conviction for rape.
