CUMBERLAND COUNTY STUDENTS TO HAVE EXTENDED THANKSGIVING 2020 BREAK; DETAILS IN STORY

Students in the Cumberland County School System will have an extended Thanksgiving holiday because of the rising active cases of COVID-19. There will be no school from this Monday, November 23 until the 29, 2020. On November 30, December 1st and 2nd, children will learn remotely and all school employees will return to work as normal. Students are scheduled at this time to head back to school on Thursday, December 3, 2020

The return date for students is subject to change depending on the progression of the coronavirus and regular flu.

In the event that the school district moves to remote learning on December 3rd and beyond, the following guidelines will be used for students:

Students at All Schools:

Grades 3-12: Student instruction via Google Classroom and Meet/Zoom will be in effect.

Grades K-2: Student instruction via daily check-in, teacher websites, and packets.

Pre-K: Student instruction via daily check-in and learning activities.

Student work submission is required for grading. Assignments are mandatory, not optional.

The student’s instructional day shall be from 7:45 a.m. – 2:45 p.m..

Teacher office hours and contact shall be made during this time.

No instruction will be delivered after 2:45 p.m.

All students shall log in to their Google classroom no later than 7:45 in the morning and no later than 5 minutes after the beginning of the class period (some grade 4 and all grade 5-12 classes). Students receiving special education services will continue to be served via daily phone calls.

RTI services will be provided via ZOOM/Google Meet and/or by telephone.

School lunches will be delivered according to bus routes or may be picked up at either Cumberland County High School (CCHS) or Stone Memorial High School (SMHS). (Students who attend Brown, Martin, Pleasant Hill & South pick up at CCHS; Students who attend Crab Orchard, Homestead, North, Pine View, and Stone pick up at SMHS)

Students without Internet Access:

Families without Internet access should contact their student’s individual school.

Additional Internet Access:

Internet Access via WIFI at any Cumberland County School parking lot or Ben Lomand Connect/Vol First parking lot 205 Obrien Drive, Crossville, TN 38555
