CUMBERLAND DEPUTIES RESPOND TO PROWLER CALL

On August 9, 2025, at approximately 11:24 P.M., Sergeant D. Hammons and Officer J. Van Trump from the Fairfield Glade Police Department responded to a prowler call at Wellington Place in Fairfield Glade. The caller, aged 73, reported an unknown male, later identified as Dennis Cunningham, a 25-year-old non-resident from St. Petersburg, Florida, banging on his doors and windows.
Upon arrival, Officer Van Trump found Cunningham on the back porch, exhibiting signs of intoxication such as slurred speech and unsteady movement. Cunningham claimed his friends were inside the condo, but the caller confirmed he did not know him. Despite attempts to verify Cunningham’s claims, including checking another condo he said he was staying at and contacting Wyndham, no evidence supported his statements, and he refused to provide further details.
Due to his intoxication, lack of shoes, and behavior posing a danger to himself, Cunningham was arrested for public intoxication. The arrest occurred without incident, and he was transported to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office for booking.
