CUMBERLAND FIRE DEPT. TO HOLD 9-11 MEMORIAL SERVICE ON THURSDAY

The Crossville Chronicle reports the Cumberland County Fire Department will hold a memorial service on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 7:30 a.m. to mark the 24th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. The ceremony will take place at the county’s 9/11 Memorial, located next to the main fire station at 1391 Livingston Road in Crossville, opposite the Cumberland County Community Complex.
The memorial features a beam from the World Trade Center, secured through the efforts of the late Cumberland County volunteer firefighter Andrew Benson, who also helped bring a similar beam to Roane County. Dozens of volunteers contributed their services to construct the memorial. The public is invited and encouraged to attend this commemorative event.
