Rockwood city leaders on Monday night approved the appointment of Dana Scott Pemberton to serve as interim acting judge. This comes after the untimely death of Judge James Smith earlier this year. Pemberton is the wife of Circuit Court Judge Mike Pemberton. The mayor and the city council agree she’ll fit well into their system at this time, since  she is familiar with the Judicial system and Law. The council didn’t want to hurry the  process, but they needed someone quickly, so the city court docket wouldn’t get so backed up this month. Pemberton was appointed to fill the unexpired remainder of the term until 2023.
