DAVENPORT ARRESTED AFTER UTILITY TERRAIN VEHICLE CHASE IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Crossville police assisted Cumberland County deputies in a pursuit of a man on a utility terrain vehicle starting on Miller Avenue approaching Lantana Road Saturday night. Officers say the rider, 27-year-old Cody Lane Davenport of Crossville, cut across Halstead Drive and later nearly hit a police cruiser. Davenport was reportedly traveling at speeds in excess of 70 miles per hour and nearly crashed three times. Stop sticks deployed by officers a short time later cause the tires on the UTV to go flat resulting in the chase ending. Davenport was charged with reckless endangerment, DUI and evading arrest.
