DAVIDSON GUILTY OF VEHICULAR HOMICIDE

The district attorney’s office says 26-year-old Timothy Todd Davidson of Crossville entered a guilty plea in court to vehicular homicide by intoxication and two counts of vehicular assault.
Davidson was driving his vehicle on Smithville Highway in White County in May of 2019 when he crossed the center line causing a head on collision that involved a total of three vehicles. Lab testing revealed that he had methamphetamine in his blood stream at the time of the crash.
Tragically, 34-year-old Gina Stewart was killed as a result of the crash. Two others, Taylor Cox and Chelsea Dillard were injured.
Davidson received a 10 year sentence for the vehicular homicide conviction for which he will serve in prison. He was sentenced to 3 years for each of the vehicular assault charges.
District Attorney General Bryant C. Dunaway says the offense of vehicular homicide is tragic. “Impaired driving kills people and it is completely preventable. Also tragic is the fact that the sentencing available under the law for vehicular homicide is too little. Please keep the victims of this crime and their families in your prayers,” said Dunaway.
