The Tennessee Department of Human Services is investigating a recent incident in Fentress County where a toddler was left unattended outside at Kids Korner Daycare on the 600^th block of North Main Street in Jamestown.

State officials reviewed surveillance videos and spoke to staff, concluding that a child between the ages of 2 and 3 had walked out of the agency without the staff knowing and was left unattended outside for at least 15 minutes.

The state said the daycare failed to report this to the Department of Children’s Services and didn’t fully cooperate with the investigation. State officials added that the daycare tried to stop the Tennessee Department of Human Services from interviewing children and staff regarding the incident.
