Wednesday is the deadline for applicants who want to be Director of Schools of Cumberland County after DOS Dr. Ina Maxwell announced she is retiring this June. Based on information to 105.7 News, tentatively, there are eight applicants thus far. At least one applicant is located in Cumberland County, one applicant from Putnam County (formerly of Cumberland County), two from other parts of Tennessee, and four applicants from out of state.  The BOE is scheduled to discuss the applicants at a retreat this weekend.
