DEADLY CRASH ON HIGHWAY 27 IN RHEA COUNTY THIS MORNING
News Channel 9 reports that a deadly two-vehicle crash occurred this morning on Highway 27 at the intersection with Highway 68 in Rhea County just south of Spring City and shortly before sunrise.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the incident and has stated that more details will be released later. The Rhea County Emergency Management Agency issued an alert at 7:38 a.m., warning that Highway 27 would be closed for an extended period.
As of 8:45 a.m., traffic in the area remained congested while crews continued working at the scene.
