PUTNAM COUNTY, TN-  According to a THP report, on Sunday afternoon around 1:15 PM, emergency personnel responded to a single-vehicle crash in the area of mile marker 291 on Interstate 40.

The driver of a Kawasaki motorcycle was negotiating a right curve, when she went off the left side of the road, and hit the cable barrier.

She was later identified as 32-year-old Nicole Siems, who sustained fatal injuries.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 40 were closed for a period of time.
