DEADLY SHOOTING IN MORGAN COUNTY

Our office is currently waiting on updates and reports from an investigation in Morgan County near the Sunbright community involving the shooting death of one male individual and the wounding of a female who was taken to UT Medical Center.
The suspect is in custody, so there is no danger to the community.
The investigation has been predicated by my office to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, in consultation with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, who first responded to the scene along with EMS. An autopsy has been ordered on the deceased male by Morgan County medical examiner Tom Boduch. The motive for this incident is undetermined at this time. TBI is currently working the scene. There are no further updates at this time.
