DECATUR AND CROSSVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENTS RESPOND TO HELP AFTER TORNADO HITS CHATTANOOGA
Fire departments in Crossville and Decatur, the Meigs County Emergency Services and other county departments responded this week to help the Chattanooga Fire Department and Hamilton County Emergency Services in relief efforts following a devastating tornado. Crews focused on rescue and recovery efforts in the Brainerd area just south of I-75 in Chattanooga. The Decatur Fire Department concentrated yesterday (Tuesday, April 14, 2020) on door to door welfare checks. The violent EF-3 tornado that hit Chattanooga late Sunday night left a trail of destruction, several injuries and at least 2 fatalities.
