DEER CRASHES THROUGH ROANE COUNTY SHOPPING CENTER STOREFRONT
This morning at around 10:57 AM EST, Rockwood Police in responded to an unusual “animal problem” call at an unoccupied retail store located at 1428 N. Gateway Avenue in the Roane County Shopping Center.
A deer had suddenly crashed through the glass door of the storefront, shattering it and entering the building. The animal suffered lacerations from the broken glass but remained contained in the front lobby area.
Rockwood Animal Control quickly arrived on scene, safely captured the deer, and removed it from the premises.
After a brief evaluation to ensure its condition was stable, the deer was successfully released back into the wild outside city limits.
