Law enforcement in Cumberland County went to a home on Highway 70 North yesterday afternoon to an altercation reportedly involving a firearm.

The arrest report states deputies arrived to find a male holding down 39-year-old Christopher E. Denny of Crossville on a bed. A female came to the home to retrieve items when Denny allegedly was intoxicated and pushed her down. The man who had restrained the suspect then entered the room and Denny allegedly grabbed a 9 mm handgun, racked a round in the chamber, put it to the male victims forehead and threatened to kill him. Denny then supposedly hit the wall with the gun leaving a hole, dropped the firearm and punched the male.

Once Denny was detained, officers located the handgun with a round in the chamber and a fully loaded magazine. Photos were taken at the scene for evidence purposes.

Denny was arrested for felony aggravated assault and transported to jail. He was initially placed under a $20,000 bond.
