DEPUTIES ARREST MAN THREATENING VICTIM WITH KNIFE IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Cumberland County deputies responded around 2 a.m. this morning to the rest area at the 326-mile marker of Interstate 40 to a disturbance.
A man told officers that 40-year-old Silvestre M. Morales of Crossville threatened him with a knife.
The victim got away and locked himself in a shed to call for help.
Deputies arrived to find Morales in a storage room near the restrooms.
He reportedly appeared to be unsteady on his feet and under the influence of either alcohol or drugs.
A deputy remembered Morales had a large knife from a previous encounter with the suspect.
Officers found the weapon in a large box of toilet paper. It matched the description by the victim of the weapon.
Deputies arrested Morales for felony aggravated assault and public intoxication.
