DEPUTIES FIND DRUGS AND MAKE ARREST WHILE SEARCHING FOR ANOTHER SUBJECT

On Wednesday, deputies arrived at a residence off Five Oaks Drive in Cumberland County to serve Robin Hogan who has an active warrant out of Loudon County, Tennessee.

Upon arrival, deputies were met by Brenda Williams at the front door who invited them in and stated that Robin Hogan was not at the residence and that if he was, she wanted him to leave. She then directed deputies toward her son, Mark Williams’ bedroom. After knocking on the bedroom door for several minutes, Mark answered the door and granted consent for deputies to enter his room and speak with him.

Deputies asked if Hogan was present, and Mark stated that he was not. While deputies were speaking with Mark, they noticed two yellow capsules laying on Mark’s bed.  Deputies asked if the pills were Gabapentin and if he had a prescription. Mark confirmed the drug to be Gabapentin and said that the pills were from his girlfriend, who he did not identify.

Also, on Mark’s nightstand, were 4 foil packets, which were packaged with Buprenorphine and Naloxone. There was also a marijuana grinder, a pen with both ends broken off, and a clear plastic bag with a corner ripped off.

Deputies asked for consent to search the entire bedroom, which Mark declined. After backing out of the room to apply for a search warrant, deputies let Mark talk with his mother until he became confrontational and belligerent, at which point he was placed in handcuffs. He also started screaming loudly and pulling away from deputies. Once he was secured in the patrol unit, deputies asked Brenda to search the rest of the residence while waiting on the search warrant for Mark’s bedroom.

A deputy located a bag of marijuana in a black purse that was stored in Brenda’s bedroom closet. She was given a citation.

After searching Mark’s bedroom, deputies located approximately 41 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, a box of individual sandwich bags, a couple of grinders, more foil wrappers with burnt residue, and corked vials.

Mark Williams was charged with:

  • Schedule V drug
  • Schedule III drug
  • Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Manufacture/Delivery/Sell of a controlled substance

Robin Hogan, who deputies were originally looking for was located at a residence off Dayton Ave, arrested, and turned over to Loudon County.
