Sullivan County Sheriff’s Deputy Steve Hinkle has died. Hinkle, shot during a standoff at a Blountville home on Saturday, died Tuesday afternoon at an area hospital.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reported deputies had received a request to perform a welfare check on 44-year-old Jackie Scott Pendergrass.
