DETAILS FROM THE ARREST OF JEANETTE HENDRIXSON
On March 15, 2025, Deputy Ethan Wilson received a call from Jeanette Deloris Hendrixson, who reported finding a dog tied to a cable and stuck on landscaping rocks. She believed the dog was neglected and had contacted the owner, but refused to return the dog until Monday, despite being advised by Deputy Wilson that taking it constituted theft. On March 16, 2025, the owner called the Sheriff’s Office, reporting that Hendrixson was refusing to return her dog. Deputy Wilson then contacted Hendrixson, instructing her to bring the dog to the Sheriff’s Office immediately, which she did.
Upon arrival, Deputy Wilson noted the dog had missing hair but appeared healthy, weighing around 81 pounds according to Hendrixson and her husband, Mark. Despite repeated warnings that taking the dog was theft, Hendrixson argued and yelled, refusing to listen. When Deputy Wilson attempted to arrest her, Mark Hendrixson aggressively intervened, leading to deputies restraining him after he resisted. Both were arrested—Jeanette for theft of property and Mark for obstruction and resisting arrest.
The owner later arrived, provided a statement, and explained she had been searching for her dog since March 14, 2025. She had messaged Hendrixson on Facebook with no response, and Mark claimed Jeanette never received it. During a phone call, Hendrixson accused the owner of neglect, citing the dog’s condition, despite the owner’s explanation of allergies and ongoing treatment. Hendrixson refused to return the dog, even after the owner requested it, leading the owner to contact law enforcement.
The dog was ultimately returned to the owner.
