DETAILS ON SUNDAY’S SINGLE-VEHICLE CRASH ON I-40 IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
According to a preliminary report by the Tennessee Highway Report, on January 4, 2026, at approximately 8:15 PM, a single-vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 40 at mile marker 322 in Cumberland County, Tennessee.
The vehicle involved was a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by 41-year-old Raul Estrada-Sanchez of Tennessee, who was wearing his seat belt and sustained no injuries. While traveling eastbound, the truck’s right front wheel detached, causing the vehicle to veer off the roadway to the left, cross the median, and come to rest facing north near the westbound lanes.
No passengers were listed in the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved. Charges against the driver are pending the outcome of the investigation.
