DETAILS RELEASED OF DRIVER STRIKING TWO PEDESTRIANS IN CROSSVILLE

A Crossville man was arrested early Sunday morning after reportedly striking two individuals with a vehicle.

According to court documents obtained this morning by 3B Media News, police say 36-year-old William Franklin Walsh of Crossville got into a verbal altercation with 30-year-old Brittany June Cox at Bootleggers on Highway 70 East.

Security footage seen by law enforcement shows Cox leaving the establishment and crossing the highway with 31-year-old Austin Kyle Moser still arguing with Walsh.

Police say Walsh got into a 2021 Nissan Sentra, traveled at a high rate of speed, and hit Cox and Moser.

Walsh reportedly fled the scene.

Officers say Walsh did not attempt to notify law enforcement of the incident.

Police arrived and saw Cox and Moser on the ground on the side of the road in front of the bar.

Two air medical helicopters were called in to fly Moser and Cox to an area trauma center for treatment of injuries.

Moser was flown to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.

Cox was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

Walsh was arrested a short time later.

He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, and two counts each of reckless endangerment and aggravated assault.

Walsh was processed into the Cumberland County jail and placed under bonds totaling $604,000.
