MAN INJURED AFTER JUMPING OUT OF A MOVING VEHICLE IN CROSSVILLE
Crossville medics and police were called to the 400 block of West Avenue late this afternoon for an injured man. Authorities say a male passenger in a vehicle, 25-year-old Casey Hamby of Crossville, jumped out of a moving car going around 30 miles an hour in front of Cumberland Components and landed on the ground. Medics arrived to find Hamby bleeding heavily and sustained a leg injury. Lifeforce 2 was called to fly to the helipad next to Cumberland Medical Center to transport Hamby to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga for treatment. According to the accident report, Hamby was suspected of alcohol use at the time of the incident. The driver of the vehicle, Hamby’s grandmother, told officers he gave no indication anything was wrong and just jumped out the vehicle.
