While on patrol just after midnight New Year’s Day, a Cumberland County deputy observed an oncoming vehicle suddenly make a hard swerve into his lane of travel almost striking him head on. After taking evasive action, the officer turned around and noticed the automobile driven by 22-year-old Diego Bartolone Diego of Crossville continuing in the wrong lane of travel. He pulled over close to the intersection of Highway 70 North and Northside Drive and was charged with DUI.
