Cumberland County deputies responded to a home on Lawsontown Road for a disturbing breaking and entering incident. The residents were out of town for a week and returned to find the inside nearly destroyed and a sickening smell generating from the residence. A cat and two dogs belonging to the occupants were missing. The cat was later found deceased in a bathroom cabinet. A neighbor indicated a male shot one of the canines. The report did not state what happened to the second dog. A suspect was identified in the case.
