DOG DRAGGING VIDEO DEEMED’ TRAGIC ACCIDENT’

From the Bledsoe County Sheriff’s Office:
On April 15, 2025, at approximately 8:47 pm, Bledsoe County 911 Center received a call about a vehicle pulling a dog tied to the vehicle. The responding officer with the Pikeville Police Department did not make contact with the vehicle at the time of the initial call.
After further investigation it was found that the incident did originate inside Bledsoe County. Bledsoe County Sheriff’s Department did conduct a thorough investigation including interviewing all parties involved, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing all video evidence.
After the investigation was conducted it has been determined that this was a tragic accident and unfortunately the dog was deceased but there was no criminal intent shown during this act. At this point, this investigation has been concluded and in collaboration with the District Attorney’s office there will be no criminal charges filed for any party involved.
