A 32-year-old local man is facing multiple drug charges after a standoff with law enforcement ended with deputies finding a stash of methamphetamine inside a patrol vehicle early this morning.

Dorian Trevonn Rivers was taken into custody following an incident at a home on Oak Grove Street. According to a report from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the residence after Rivers allegedly fled from Crossville Police officers following a physical altercation involving a BB gun.

Upon arrival, officers found Rivers barricaded inside the home. Law enforcement successfully negotiated his exit, and he was taken into custody without further incident.

While Rivers was seated in the back of a patrol vehicle, Deputy Tyler Leary conducted a check on his well-being and discovered a black case on the floorboard that had not been there prior to transport. A search of the case uncovered:

• Approximately 0.5 grams of a white crystal-like substance suspected to be methamphetamine.

• A glass pipe containing white residue.

• A digital scale, plastic razor heads, lighters, scoops, and additional drug paraphernalia.

Although Rivers denied owning the item, family members at the scene confirmed the case belonged to him.

Rivers was booked into the Cumberland County Intake Facility and charged with:

• Manufacture, Delivery, Sale, or Possession of Methamphetamine (Bond: $5,000)

• Tampering with Evidence (Bond: $20,000)

• Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Bond: $5,000)

The seized substances have been sent to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) lab for formal analysis. Rivers is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on September 14, 2026.
