Roane County authorities took 55-year-old Jeffrey Lee Douglas of Rockwood into custody yesterday for aggravated sexual battery and aggravated assault. Court documents state Douglas punched an adult female numerous times, attempted to strangle her and started tearing the victims clothes off. Officers noted in their report a badly swollen eye socket, multiple golf ball sized knots on her head and a possible broken jaw to the female. She was taken to Roane Medical Center for treatment.
