DOWNED TREES AND POWER LINES OVER ROADS FROM STORMS RESULTS IN ACCIDENTS IN CUMBERLAND CO.

Downed trees and power lines over roads in Cumberland County from storms Saturday resulted in at least two accidents.

Troopers say a 1997 Dodge Ram driven by 64-year-old James Rogers of Rockwood was traveling on Highway 70 East near Renegade Mountain Parkway when his vehicle struck a downed power line. Damage was observed to the driver’s side of the vehicle. Rogers was not hurt.

A second accident four hours later took place on Highway 68. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a 2008 Dodge Caliber operated by 57-year-old Rose Price of Graysville was traveling south when she struck a fallen tree on the highway. Price was restrained at the time of impact and was not injured.
