Troopers and medics went to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Sparta Highway near Pleasant Hill in Cumberland County late yesterday. A 1997 Ford Ranger operated by 30-year-old Charles Andrew Maxwell of Crossville was heading west when he ran off the road and struck a tree. The crash report states Maxwell was not hut and was cited for failure to exercise due care.
