DRIVER HITS GUARDRAIL ON INTERSTATE 40 IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
A motorist escaped injury yesterday after a vehicle crash on Interstate 40 in Cumberland County.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says the accident happened at the 331 westbound mile marker.
A 2009 Toyota Corolla driven by 64-year-old Ina Grace Simons of Maryland lost control in a curve and crashed into a guardrail. The vehicle spun around and impacted another guardrail.
Troopers state Simons said she was trying to retrieve her cell phone in the passenger seat when the accident took place.
