DRIVER INJURED AFTER VEHICLE RUNS OFF I-40 BRIDGE AND LANDS ON ROAD BELOW
A recent vehicle crash on I-40 in Roane County resulted in an injury. The report released by the highway patrol last night states a 2013 Chevy Silverado driven by 18-year-old Jesse Roche of Knoxville was traveling west at the 350 mile marker when he ran off the roadway, impacted a dirt mound and went airborne. The Chevy cleared the interstate, overturned in mid-air and landed on its top in the northbound lane of Pine Ridge Road below the interstate bridge. Roche, who was restrained, was extricated from the wreckage and taken to a hospital. He was charged with driving without a license, improper use of a cell phone while driving and failure to exercise due care.
