A driver sustained injuries yesterday afternoon in Crab Orchard.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says an unknown motorist in a white sedan pulled out into the path of an oncoming 2003 Chevy SC1 pickup truck driven by 25-year-old Essien D. Wienblatt at the intersection of Highway 70 East and Market Street.

Wienblatt took evasive action to prevent a head-on collision.

He ran off the road and struck a ditch.

The driver of the sedan fled the scene.

The accident is under investigation by the highway patrol. Troopers say charges are pending against the motorist of the sedan.
