A concrete mixing truck driver died Monday night after his truck overturned along Highway 58 in the Indian Shadows area of South Roane County, close to the Meigs County line.  The truck had overturned on the driver’s side, preventing the driver from getting out.

South Roane County Fire Dept., Roane County Rescue Squad Roane Co EMA, Roane Co. EMS, Meigs County Fire & Rescue, Knoxville Vol. Rescue Squad-Heavy Rescue Team, life-force Air Medical, RCSO, THP, and Y-12 Special Operations Team were all on the scene throughout the night.

The driver passed away before the emergency teams could rescue him.  Agencies worked for over 2 hours at the accident site in an attempt to free the driver The driver passed away before the teams could extricate him.
