DRIVERS ESCAPE INJURY IN VEHICLE CRASH ON I-40 IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Two drivers escaped injury Tuesday in a crash on Interstate 40 in Cumberland County.
According to the accident report released today by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a 2017 Toyota Tacoma driven by 63-year-old Rick Ranney of California was traveling west at the 334-mile marker when a tire blew on the vehicle.
The Toyota went into the other westbound lane and hit a 2018 Honda Civic operated by 30-year-old Cinthya Kuniyoshi or Tennessee.
Troopers say both vehicles came to a stop on the shoulder of the interstate.
Officers say westbound traffic was backed up for a brief period because of the accident.
