DUI NEAR THE AMERICAN LEGION

On May 2, 2025, at midnight, Officer Jacob Ogle of the Crossville Police Department observed a Black Ford in the parking lot of the closed American Legion on Main St. Upon contacting the driver, identified as 29-year-old Jessica Jean Zimmer, a nonresident of Crossville, Officer Ogle noted her bloodshot eyes and a strong odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle.
Zimmer denied drinking, stating she was driving around with a passenger upset over a breakup. She agreed to perform standardized field sobriety tests, during which she exhibited clear signs of impairment, including lack of smooth pursuit, distinct and vertical nystagmus in both eyes, and significant balance issues.
During the walk-and-turn test, Zimmer missed heel-to-toe steps, stepped off the line, used her arms for balance, and admitted to consuming two beers. She further struggled with the one-leg stand, swaying, hopping, nearly falling, and losing balance.
Consequently, Officer Ogle arrested Zimmer for Driving Under the Influence and transported to Cumberland County Jail.
