DUI ON MILLER AND DAYTON
On Sunday Crossville Police units were dispatched to the area of Miller Ave and Dayton Ave in response to a crash off the roadway.
Upon arriving, Lieutenant South and Officer Ethan Cunningham made contact with driver Kayla Lynn Gellatly.
She said she had consumed two alcoholic drinks and was asked to step out of the vehicle.
Once outside the vehicle, Lieutenant South asked if she had anything illegal in her car and if officers could search her vehicle. The driver said she had a small amount of “what we call weed here”, and permitted officers to search her vehicle.
Gellatly was then given sobriety tests which she failed, and she was arrested for driving under the influence.
While Gellatly was performing the sobriety tests, Lieutenant South found a small amount of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana on the floorboard inside the vehicle. A grinder and pipe were also located inside.
The driver would be transported to Cumberland County Justice Center for booking and vials of blood were drawn for testing.
