DWK Life Sciences, formerly Chase Instruments in the Roane County Industrial Park in Rockwood, will begin reduced their workforce Monday, June 8, 2020. The plant will also begin a planned shut down the weeks of June 15, 2020 and July 6, 2020. The plant is biggest employer in Roane County with around 350 workers. They supply laboratory supplies and medical packing products to numerous hospitals. Officials hope the job reductions is temporary as demand for the products will begin to increase as the economy improves.
