E.S.G. ALERTS CUMBERLAND COMMISSION TO EXISTING FLATROCK FIRE AND EMS CONTRACT
On October 29, 2025, Emergency Service Group, LLC (ESG), the existing contracted provider of limited fire protection and medical services for Flatrock Motorclub, issued a letter to the Cumberland County Commission seeking clarification and transparency regarding the county’s recent actions.
ESG claims that Flatrock already has a valid binding contract with them for these services, contingent on necessary authorizations, and also claim this was not disclosed during budget and commission meetings where a resolution was approved to authorize County Mayor Allen Foster to negotiate new EMS and fire protection arrangements with Flatrock.
Previously, the county’s budget committee unanimously passed a resolution for Flatrock to pay $343,600 annually to cover part-time event-based services (21-24 hours weekly), including salaries, overtime, benefits, and part-time personnel, with either party able to terminate on 30 days’ notice; the full commission was set to vote on it that week.
ESG emphasized its commitment to fulfilling the current contract, requested full disclosure of the existing relationship in future discussions to avoid duplication or misunderstandings, and offered cooperation and documentation while supporting the county’s safety goals.
