A Cumberland County Deputy was called out to Eastern Cumberland County near Westel to a family claiming harassment by a neighbor.

The caller said her four children are adopted, but don’t know they are, and suspects her neighbor has been leaving notes containing personal information about the children’s adopted status on various places on the road and on road signs in the hopes the children would read them.

The caller said the neighbor had been doing this for around 8 months and has even gone as far as to chase the female children specifically on his four-wheeler ATV, taking pictures of them, hiding and watching them, and is in fear something may happen to them.

She said the issue started from her children blowing dirt on the road after riding by on four-wheelers.

Deputies with Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office had been called out to the area multiple times, and spoken with both parties. The deputy advised her to get a criminal summons and settle the issue in court.

Names are withheld as formal charges haven’t yet been filed.
