East Tennessee State University Football Coach Randy Sanders has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation into potential violation of university policy.

On Dec. 17, Sanders replaced retiring coach Carl Torbush. Sanders had spent five years as quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator for Florida State University.

Sanders also spent time as an offensive coordinator at Tennessee and Kentucky.

A native of Morristown, Tennessee , Sanders was primarily a backup quarterback when he played at UT from 1984 to 1988.

East Tennessee State is slated to take on UT Saturday, September 8.
