Eight boys from Parrans Chapel Baptist Church in Bolivar, Tennessee, were sent to hospitals after a church bus crashed in Fairview.

The bus, borrowed from Dixie Hills Baptist Church, overturned on State Route 840 and Highway 100 around 6 p.m. Saturday. Tennessee Highway Patrol investigators say the van lost control in the rain and rolled over into the median.

THP reports 12 people, including the driver, were on board at the time. Six children were transported to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital; two others were sent to Tri-Star Horizon. The driver was uninjured.

The bus was on its way back from a youth event in Chattanooga. Bolivar is some 70 miles east of Memphis.
