EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE REVENUE BELOW EXPECTATIONS FOR FISCAL YEAR

The Crossville Chronicle reports that Finance Director Jennifer Turner highlighted that Emergency Medical Service (EMS) collections for the 2025-26 fiscal year are currently $13,737 below budgeted projections during her recent financial report to the Cumberland County budget committee.

Despite August EMS collections exceeding projections by $59,111 at $492,445, September collections fell short by $72,848, totaling $360,485 against a monthly projection of $433,333. Turner noted that, as it is early in the fiscal year, there is ample time to recover these shortfalls.

Additionally, she reported that August local option sales tax collections reached $1,504,002, surpassing projections by $15,762, with these funds primarily supporting the General Purpose School Fund. Hotel/motel tax collections for the fiscal year stood at $124,462, while prisoner boarding collections from the state were reported at zero.

Turner indicated that property tax collection data was not yet available but promised to provide any updated figures at the county commission meeting on September 15.
