Kingston and Roane County residents are invited to attend a special dedication ceremony Wednesday, July 8, at the newly designated Fort Southwest Point State Park in Kingston.
The ceremony will officially mark the transfer of the historic site to the State of Tennessee. State Senator Ken Yager will host the event and take part in the official dedication.
The ceremony begins at 5:00 p.m. at Fort Southwest Point State Park, located at 1226 South Kentucky Street, Kingston. The public is encouraged to attend and take part in this historic occasion as Fort Southwest Point officially begins its new chapter as a Tennessee State Park.
