ROANE COUNTY FREE HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUSE WASTE COLLECTION EVENT

Roane County is hosting a FREE Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event to help you safely get rid of items you shouldn’t throw in the trash.

Saturday, April 18, 2026

9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

This event, sponsored by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, is a great chance to clean out your garage, basement, or storage shed while protecting your family, first responders, and the environment.

Accepted items include:

• Household cleaners like drain openers, oven cleaners, and disinfectants

• Paint thinners and strippers

• Lawn and garden chemicals like pesticides and fertilizers

• Automotive fluids such as gasoline, diesel, and coolant

• Aerosols, fluorescent bulbs, mercury thermometers

• Needles or sharps (must be in puncture-proof containers)

If it’s corrosive, flammable, toxic, or reactive, this is the place for it.

Let’s keep hazardous materials out of our homes, landfills, and waterways, and make disposal the safe way, the easy way.
