EXECUTIVE ORDER 17 CLOSES CITY PLAYGROUNDS AND CITY PARKS IN CROSSVILLE

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee signed Executive Order 17 over the weekend calling for businesses across the state to utilize alternative business models until midnight central April 6, 2020.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has created both an economic and a health crisis and our response must continue to address both aspects,” said Governor Lee. “Our goal is to keep the public, especially vulnerable populations, safe.”

Executive Order 17 prohibits social gatherings of 10 or more people. It also limits restaurants to take out or delivery only. All dine in only restaurants are temporarily closed by the order.

Locally, the City of Crossville and the Leisure Services Department will be observing these limitations prohibiting gatherings of 10 or more people. All league play has been suspended at present and will be re-evaluated prior to April 7. Playgrounds, basketball courts, pickleball courts and skateparks at Centennial Park, Garrison Park and Meadow Park Lake will all be closed to public use. Hiking and walking trails at all facilities will remain open. Patrons are advised to observe social distancing guidelines.
