EXPECT TRAFFIC DELAYS UNTIL OCTOBER 1, 2020 ON I-40 IN EASTERN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Now thru October 1, I-40 at Daddy’s Creek Bridge at mile marker 326 in Cumberland County  will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge repair. Temporary nighttime lane closures may be required at other times to allow resurfacing activities to continue. The speed limit will be reduced to 60 mph during working hours. Troopers will assist with traffic control.

Motorists can expect travel delays each day until October 1, 2020 in this area with traffic backing up for several miles.

Travelers heading east can get off at the 322 Exit (Peavine Road), turn right then a left at the stop sign to be on Highway 70. Take it to Crab Orchard where you can get back on the interstate there.

Motorists heading west can get off at the 329 Exit (Crab Orchard), turn right then left at the stop sign to get on Highway 70. Take it until you get to a four way stop, turn right and you can resume I-40 once you go around the curve.
