A fire at Melton Hill Marina off Highway 62 near the Knox/Anderson County line last night left one man injured. According to reports, 46-year-old Jason Chad Smith of Knoxville reset a tripped circuit breaker on board his cabin cruiser docked at the marina when an explosion occurred, setting the boat on fire. The fire spread and consumed a portion of the dock, as well as about ten boats. Another eight boats were also burned in varying degrees. Smith was transported to Vanderbilt Burn Center for treatment of injuries. TWRA is working with a Knox County arson investigator to try to determine the cause of the explosion.
