The Fairfield Glade Ladies Club (FGLC) has reinforced its nearly 50-year legacy of local philanthropy by donating more than $23,000 to the Roane State Foundation, pushing the club’s lifetime support for students past the $178,000 milestone.

The contribution funds scholarships for the 2026–2027 academic year, directly supporting 13 adult learners and career changers alongside four local high school students enrolled in the Middle College program. Originally established in 1977, the scholarship fund was renamed the “Fairfield Glade Pam Biggs Scholarship” in 2012 to honor a devoted member’s enduring commitment to Cumberland County.

School administrators noted that the timely funding arrives as the Cumberland County campus experiences significant growth, including the expansion of its nursing program following the 2024 opening of a new health science wing.

Roane State President Chris Whaley praised the enduring partnership, emphasizing that community investment remains vital for keeping higher education accessible to local students.
