FAIRFIELD GLADE TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO METH ARREST AND DRUG CHARGES

A routine traffic stop for a seatbelt violation on August 12, 2026, resulted in the arrest of a Crossville woman on multiple drug charges, according to Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office records.

Officer Nikolas Brendel of the Fairfield Glade Police Department pulled over a silver Nissan Pathfinder near the Peavine Road Dollar Tree after observing the front-seat passenger failing to wear a seatbelt. The driver was accompanied by passenger Pamela Jo Cantrell, 48, and a rear-seat passenger.

According to the incident report, Cantrell displayed erratic movements and facial tics consistent with narcotic use. After obtaining consent to search the vehicle, officers located a black purse belonging to Cantrell on the front passenger floorboard.

Inside the bag, authorities discovered:

  • A marijuana vape device and a small baggie of a green leafy substance

  • A metal pipe commonly used for ingesting illicit drugs

  • A small baggie containing a white crystalline substance identified as methamphetamine

Cantrell admitted to officers that she was under the influence of methamphetamine and stated she had intended to purchase and redistribute drugs. A subsequent records check also revealed an active failure-to-appear warrant out of Roane County.

Cantrell was transported to the Cumberland County Jail and booked on charges of manufacturing, delivering, selling, or possessing methamphetamine, as well as unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver received a warning citation for the seatbelt and insurance violations, while the passenger was released at the scene without charges.
